New Damen Yacht Support 5009 to debut at Monaco Yacht Show

Damen Shipyards is to present the newly upgraded 55m Damen Yacht Support 5009 at the Monaco Yacht Show 2016, with the vessel parked at T-Central from the 28th September to 1st October.

Rob Luijendijk, managing director of Amels, Damen’s luxury yacht builder and partner for the Yacht Support range commented, “What better way to prove the great advantages of the Yacht Support concept than a purpose-built showcase vessel? Construction is underway at Damen in Holland and the YS 5009 will shortly begin sea trials. In Monaco we plan on bringing a full array of toys, tenders, a submersible and dive equipment.”

Damen claim that value for money is very competitive and clients have responded positively with nine vessels from the Yacht Support range have been delivered or are under construction.

Mark Vermeulen, Damen product director at Yacht Support and SeaXplorer added, “Following the success of the upgraded 69.15m YS 6911 (227 ft), Damen’s team of designers and engineers has turned its attention to the YS 5009”

“The upgraded YS 5009 offers all the benefits of larger helicopters, safer operations, bigger tenders and a great variety of toys. You accommodate more staff and crew. Plus, we can deliver in eight months from signing depending on the client’s requirements – no other solution can match that.”
