Marine AV has introduced a 12v Bluetooth audio system that can receive wireless output from almost all Bluetooth equipped devices and allow boaters to enjoy it via up to eight speakers with a total of 120 watts output power.
This system, comprised of a receiver and an amplifier, is perfect for boats and yachts of all sizes whose owners do not wish to install a full wireless LAN network yet still want to enjoy audio content held on Apple devices, most PCs and many mobile telephones through a discreet and compact onboard entertainment system.
At the heart of the system lies the Bluetooth receiver, which gives the user of a Bluetooth device full control of the system and the ability to play any of the audio content stored on their unit. The receiver will pair with all devices that apply the widely-used A2DP Bluetooth protocol and has an operating range of up to 80 feet, making it ideal for even substantial yachts. For added versatility it comes with 12v and 100~240v power supplies to ensure compatibility with almost every electrical system, and even has a two-hour rechargeable battery for portable use. Individual alphanumeric IDs allow the installation of multiple units on board a single craft for multi-zone applications.
From the receiver the signal is then fed into the ME-60 Marine Amplifier, a four channel, 120 watts RMS, water resistant amp that can be installed in a wide variety of positions.
The amp can power up to eight 4 ohm speakers and has an external volume control and on/off switch that can be positioned up to three metres away from the main unit. Other features include switchable rear channels, internal distortion limiting circuits and dedicated gain level control.
A valuable addition for every vessel from RIBS to large motor and sailing yachts, the 12v Bluetooth sound system costs just £306.00 including VAT. Purchasers can use existing speakers or select from the wide range of brands supplied by Marine AV.
