New hull technologies at Benetti as they announces their new expansion

Benetti announced recently two new superyachts, the F125 and F140, will be launched next year. The yachts represent a new range of displacement-to-planning (D2P) hulls that the Italian builder says are faster and more fuel-efficient than existing hulls.

At a press conference during the Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes, Vincenzo Poerio CEO of Benetti said the new yachts represent an "unexplored niche" in yachting, and that the designs were based on customer feedback.

Poerio added "Our American clients want something that is not only fast but consumes less fuel, we designed the boats to provide range as well."

The new D2P yachts will join Benetti's semi-custom Class range.

The new yachts will be powered by the Rolls Royce Azipull 65 who Benetti partnered with in designing the lightweight propulsion system.

Alberto Perrone, director of sales at Benetti, showed drawings and speed figures for the new Benetti F125. It is expected to be launched next year at the Cannes show. It shows innovative design cues like a whirlpool and living area on the bow as well as a fold-up "beach" transom.

But Benetti also pointed to its high speed and fuel efficiency. Perrone said “These new boats allow owners to use their boats at high cruising speeds—speeds that would have been inefficient for full planing hulls and impossible for displacement hulls,". Both yachts will have interiors by London design firm Redman Whiteley Dixon in three themes—Air, Sea and Land—that reflect different styles. The boats will also be available in 15 layouts. The 125 will have a top speed of 23 knots.
