New orders for Oyster Yachts at boot Düsseldorf

Oyster Yachts proudly displayed two of their world-class British cruising yachts, the Oyster 575 and Oyster 825, at boot Düsseldorf in January.

Oyster joined 1,740 exhibitors from 57 countries where the Oyster 825 was, for the second consecutive year, the largest sailing yacht on display at the show. 

David Tydeman, CEO of Oyster Yachts said, “For the second year running, we were pleased to present a ‘best of both’ approach with the third of our Oyster 825’s built by our Southampton yard, alongside the 26^th Oyster 575 built by our Norfolk operation.

“Both yachts featured new concepts, not previously shown at boat shows, which demonstrate our willingness to work with our clients on customisation. This included the shallow draft, centreboard and twin rudder of the 575 complemented by the extended transom. On the Oyster 825, the new ‘Skyships’ technology to monitor and control on-board systems caught the imagination of many.”

Boot Düsseldorf fulfilled the expectations of its many exhibitors, including Oyster with the 575 and 825 enticing buyers to join the over 1,000 current Oyster owners, as two new contracts were closed during the 2015 show, bolstering the order book to a total of 32 yachts.

Tydeman continued, “We are in a very good position which is enabling us to look at expanding production resources in Norfolk and Southampton, reinforced by the two new contracts signed at the show. With four yachts currently in commissioning, 14 in build and 12 waiting to start, we now look forward to presenting the range at our annual Private View event in London at St Katharine Docks at the end of April.” 

The next show for Oyster will be the Miami International Boat Show on 12^th to 16^th February, where the British yacht builder will again be displaying the Oyster 575.
