In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
UK yacht crew training centre, John Percival Marine Associates (JPMA) has announced the return of the prestigious John Percival Leadership Award for its second year, which is now awaiting nominations from international yacht crew.
Created in 2014 in memory of Captain John Percival - an ambassador of crew training - the award personifies his ideal for high standards across all departments on board, rewarding yacht crew working at all levels.
Awarded to captain Christoph Schaefer last year at the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show, the training centre is now searching for its 2015 winner, with the hope that the award will motivate the winner to return their vessel emboldened to inspire students and to nurture junior crew.
In a statement released by the training school, JPMA asked crew to nominate the true leaders aboard the yachts on which they work. It said, “Does your bosun guide you in your career decisions, sharing knowledge and recommending courses? Does your engineer explain what goes on within the engine room, letting you shadow engine room checks? Does your chef share tips and techniques, encouraging crew to expand their culinary knowledge and abilities? If so – tell us!”
Nominations are now being accepted by email at [email protected], and should detail why a member of your crew, past or present, deserves to be the 2015 recipient of the John Percival Leadership Award.
Nominations close on Friday 18th September 2015 and the award will again be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show this year.
