PAE unveils Nordhavn 9615

Pacific Asian Enterprises has revealed that its latest Nordhavn 96 yacht has been launched and christened Serenity.

Hull number 9615 for the Xiamen-based yard, the 30.48-metre (100-foot) all-GRP motor yacht is 1.2 metres longer than her sisterships Lacey Kay, Vivierae and Macguffin. The aft extension was built to increase the size of the cockpit by 8.7 square metres, as the owner is a keen sportsfisherman.

Despite the longer stern, Serenity continues to boast the unmistakeable Nordhavn aesthetics, with a bulbous bow and high freeboard. Her colourful hull finish is described by the yard as “Stars and Stripes blue”.

Inside, she features a customised five-cabin layout, which provides suitable accommodation for the owner and his family. Meanwhile, the crew quarters are for up to four staff.

Destry Darr Designs developed the modern interior décor. Key materials include walnut wood, stainless steel inlays, and rare stonework, creating a neutral palette of grey, cream and brown, which will contrast with the vibrant artwork on board.

Power comes from a pair of 454hp Caterpillar C18 ACERT diesel engines for a top speed of 12 knots. When trimmed back to her cruising speed of nine knots, Serenity will have a range of 3,000 nautical miles, drawing on a total fuel capacity in excess of 26,000 litres. The figures will be tested on sea trials before a scheduled delivery in March 2018.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at the yard include 9616, the fifth full in the Nordhavn 96 series, which is due to hit the water before the end of the year.
