Oceanair will be showcasing their DAME nominated new products at Mets

The new SKYSOL motion from Oceanair is an innovatively designed pleated blind for boat port lights and windows. SKYSOL Motion offers the practicality and convenience associated with traditional roller blinds, combined with the elegant look and feel of a pleated blind. This is enabled through a specially designed self-retracting recoil system developed and manufactured in-house by Oceanair, not previously available in the marine market.

Developed with the support from world leading boat builders and engineered for competitive pricing, a tension system prevents movement and rattling and enables the blind to be fixed to angled and inclined windows. The low maintenance pleated blind is streamlined and compact with an aesthetically pleasing design.  Available in a choice of popular hardware colours, fixed twin handles allow for easy use and blind stowage.

A wide choice of moisture resistant pleated and Duette fabrics are available, ensuring UV rays coming into the boat are minimized, whilst naturally regulating onboard temperatures and saving on costs. For the first time, SKYSOL Motion combined with Oceanair’s existing pleated blind range, allows for a consistent pleated blind interior styling.

Oceanair launches the world’s first roller blind for companionways and is proud to debut the new Companionway. A world first, the Companionway is a practical and durable all-in-one blackout and flyscreen blind for sailing and motor boat companionways. Developed and tested with support from world leading production boat builders, an aesthetically pleasing and functional blind was required and Oceanair is pleased to have delivered the ideal solution.

For the first time, Oceanair’s customers will now be able to deploy a blackout blind across their companionway, providing protection from sunlight and harmful UV rays, and/or a flyscreen; providing daytime privacy, cabin aeration and protection from insects.

Custom designed and manufactured in-house, Companionway has been innovatively designed for quick installation or retrofitting. A unique side track mechanism with a bendable track design effectively zip locks the blind fabric in place, whilst a built-in cushioning allows for fabric flexing; maintaining tension throughout the curvature of the blind. This track system has been designed to prevent light seepage and fabric blowout, and to ensure seamless integration to any boat.

Designed to allow for a clear companionway when not in use, Companionway is installed flush to the floor; eliminating any trip hazard. Furthermore, specially developed fixing plates overcome the challenges posed by typical companionway design; which tend to tailor in towards the bottom. Available in a range of colour options, Companionway is representative of Oceanair’s innovative approach to marine blind design and focus on evolving customer needs.
