Oceanco unveils 105m expedition yacht Esquel

Dutch shipyard Oceanco has unveiled its latest design concept; 105-metre (344-foot) extreme expedition yacht, Esquel.

Named after a meteorite found near Patagonian town comprised of metal and crystals, the superyacht was revealed at the Dubai Yacht Show earlier this week.

Presenting a displacement hull with a plumb bow, Esquel is intended for considerable cruising to isolated destinations such as the North and South Poles. The diesel-electric expedition yacht features a propulsion package allowing for a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising range of 7000 nautical miles at 13 knots.

Timur Bozca has designed her exterior, whilst Lateral Naval Architects is responsible for the naval architecture of the vessel. The yacht’s interior has been styled by Gina Brennan, who described the decor as “cool and casual”.

The interior offers a main deck saloon, including a sizable dining table and seating surrounding the central fireplace. A master suite providing idyllic views as well as luxurious guestrooms will also sit on the superyacht.

Esquel will feature a gym, yoga room, spa and hot tub, as well as a variety of internal and external communal areas, one of which will convert into a cinema or gaming room.

Along with providing capabilities for the home-schooling of children, as well as accommodation for nannies and tutors.

Oceanco has worked with engineering and yacht expedition travel company Pelorus to investigate the landscape of additional isolated locations, including Greenland and Patagonia. Esquel will be capable of carrying two submarines, motorbikes and a land vehicle, as well as harbouring a helicopter.
