Omniaccess has announced the launch of its new VSAT training course, which introduces the fundamentals of VSAT communications and TCP/IP networking.
The three-day course is aimed at ETOs and chief engineers looking to gain valuable knowledge and experience in marine networking, with participants gaining hands-on experience through training on real equipment on live satellite networks.
The course is held at Omniaccess’ head office in Palma de Mallorca, providing extensive opportunity for hands-on testing. Students will be able to visit the firm’s main teleport, hosting a total of 23 satellite network uplink antennas ranging from 3.7m to 7.6m operating in C and Ku bands, as well as a selection of the industry-standard marine stabilised antennas such as Sea Tel, Intellian and Sailor.
Participants will learn the basics of satellite communications and VSAT networks, how to troubleshoot marine VSAT systems and on-board network issues, how to perform a satellite beam switch on ABS and non-ABS setups, and more.
