Italian boatbuilder Palumbo Superyachts has confirmed the sale of its 79.5-metre (261-foot) superyacht project Columbus 80.
Construction is now underway at the Ancona-based yard, with an expected delivery date in early 2019.
The superyacht’s technical and machinery spaces are almost complete, while the outfitting of the decks and cabins are at an advanced stage and painting is reaching the final coating process.
Commissioned by an experienced owner, Columbus 80 boasts exterior design from HydroTec, with Francesco Gioda responsible for her “calming” interior décor.
Once complete she will have a beam of 13-metres and 2,100GT.
Power comes from two MTU 4000 M63L engines, allowing Columbus 80 to achieve a top speed of 16.5 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
She will be launched using the shipyard’s new Syncrolift, which has a lift capacity of up to 3,300 tonnes.
Other superyacht projects currently under construction at the yard include the 49.5-metre Columbus S50, which is due to be delivered in mid-2020.
