Paul Allen’s 126m superyacht Octopus on sale for €295 million

Late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s 126-metre (414-foot) superyacht Octopus is currently on the market for €295 million, or around £259 million. 

The eight-deck superyacht, built by Lürssen and launched in 2003, features exterior design by Espen Oeino and interior styling by Jonathan Quinn Barnett.

Octopus can accommodate up to 26 guests across 13 cabins, as well as an additional 63 crew members across 30 crew cabins. She comprises a full owner’s deck, which includes a private bar, Jacuzzi and an al fresco dining area. She also features two elevators.

The superyacht features a pool located aft with a bar, dining area and pizza oven. Underneath the bridge deck is a deck devoted to entertainment which consists of a spa, gym, basketball court and cinema.

Octopus has explored the coast of Antarctica, the Northwest Passage and the wreck of the HMS Hood at a depth of 2.8kn for the Royal Navy. She also discovered the wreck of the WWII battleship IJN Musashi off the Philippines.

Her hybrid propulsion system provides a top speed of 19 knots and a transoceanic range of approximately 12,500 nautical miles at her economical speed of 12.5 knots.
