P&O Marinas reports continued strong industry interest in Dubai

P&O Marinas has showcased Dubai’s position as a “growing and highly sought-after destination” for the global yachting community, superyacht enthusiasts and the leisure tourism industry at large.

The Dubai-based marina operator attracted sustained interest from visitors and leisure business leaders at the annual Monaco Yacht Show held at Port Hercules last week.

The P&O Marinas’ strategic participation was led by Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, group chairman and CEO, DP World; accompanied by Mohammed Al Muallem, CEO and managing director, DP World, UAE Region; and Mohammed Abdul Aziz Al Mannai, CEO and executive director, P&O Marinas, Mina Rashid Marina.

During the UAE breakfast hosted at the stand of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Department, Mr. Al Muallem announced that Dubai will host the prestigious ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) World Marinas Conference in October 2020. Mr. Al Muallem highlighted that as the host city for Expo 2020, Dubai, the acknowledged marine capital of the region, is well positioned to attract the world’s leisure sailing and yachting enthusiasts in the run-up to the global event.

Mr. Al Muallem highlighted that the UAE is planning a series of social and nautical events and conferences during the coming winter including the Abu Dhabi Boat Show, the Middle East Yachting Conference, followed by the Dubai International Superyacht Summit in Dubai in March coinciding with the Dubai Boat Show 2020.

Mohammed Abdul Aziz Al Mannai, commented, “The Monaco Yacht Show is where industry influencers gather and provides the perfect opportunity for P&O Marinas to showcase our efforts to bolster the UAE and Gulf Riviera as a new luxury destination for the world’s yachting enthusiasts. Our vision of ‘Connecting Cities to the Seas’ resonates with the overarching purpose of the Monaco Yacht Show and we believe the presence of P&O Marinas will shed light on the connectivity of the Mediterranean and the Gulf in this domain.”
