Porto Montenegro passes its annual ISO review

After its first year operating under the internationally recognised ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 standards for quality management and environmental protection, Porto Montenegro has passed their annual review.

Porto Montenegro is committed to protect the environment and the territory in which they operate, in particular by implementing targeted actions on pollution prevention and continual improvement of its environmental protection. The company follows the UNI EN ISO 14001 in order to give strong operational support to its environmental policy, which includes the following:

  • Continuous improvement of environmental performance by preventing all forms of pollution
  • Accordance with applicable legal requirements and other requirements subscribed in relation to environmental aspects
  • Monitoring of water to prevent and contain any pollution
  • Adopting emergency procedures and advanced techniques to limit environmental pollution caused by accidental oil spills in the water
  • Optimisation of collection and waste management, supporting initiatives and progressive reduction of waste sent for disposal as well as recovery / recycling of the same
  • Promoting initiatives to enlarge the cultural heritage and local environmental perspective of sustainable development of the district in which it operates
  • The training of staff on the principles of environmental protection legislation and internal procedures
  • To inform and raise awareness among users, third parties operating on the site and suppliers to act environmentally safe and in compliance with environmental policy
