Porto Montenegro wins first TYHA Marina of Distinction Award

Porto Montenegro has been awarded The Yacht Harbour Association’s (TYHA) first ‘Superyacht Marina of Distinction’ award for its on-going customer service excellence and market leadership between 2015 and 2017.

Tony Browne, marina director at Porto Montenegro, received the award at the recent London Boat Show, at a ceremony hosted by TYHA in partnership with GJW Insurance and the British Marine Foundation (BMF).

For the third year running, the awards were open to all Gold Anchor accredited marinas, of which Porto Montenegro holds ‘5 Gold Anchors’ - the highest accolade for service and operational standards available in the industry.

Boat owners and berth holders were invited to vote for their favorite marina within each category: UK Coastal Marina, UK Inland Marina, International Marina and Superyacht Marina.

Tony Browne commented, “Back in 2015 we humbly asked our customers to vote for us in the TYHA Superyacht Marina of the Year award and we were delighted with the response when we won; after finishing second in 2016 we couldn’t be more proud to receive the very first THYA Superyacht Marina of Distinction award in 2017, in recognition of our on-going customer service excellence and market leadership.

“We sincerely thank our customers for their continuing support and I would personally like to congratulate our entire Montenegrin team for their passion, commitment and dedication.”

Jon White, general manager of The Yacht Harbour Association said, “2017 saw the launch of the accolade Marina of Distinction. This honour distinguishes a marina with over three consecutive years of continual customer service excellence, as voted for by its customers in the Marina of the Year competition.

“To qualify, marinas must rank a category finalist over three consecutive competitions. On the third year, they receive the title of Marina of Distinction. The first ever superyacht marina to receive this honour is Porto Montenegro.”
