Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
Icon Yachts is to undertake a major refit on 47.5m Princess Too. Her work list includes a full Awlgrip repaint in a new colour scheme and build-up of a new underwater ship. Icon Yachts has also been commissioned to integrate a new black water double bottom storage tank for the yacht. Further major works include the repair and re-caulking of the teak deck with a light grey colour complimenting the new exterior colour scheme.
Launched from the Feadship van Lent yard in 1999, Princess Too is scheduled to complete her refit in five months.
The ICON management team believe that it is their unique facilities and close proximity to the best suppliers that makes their yard popular as a refit facility. Stephan Vitus, head of project development explained: “It is the package we offer; from the first inspection on board to the detailed scope we specify and quotations free from build in sinkholes, right up to the enthusiastic team and strict quality control at the yard – that’s what differentiates us and convinces clients to drive their yachts from the Med to Holland, for a Dutch quality refit.”
Some of the most recent refit projects completed at Icon Yachts include the m/y’s Seven Sins, Rahil, Slipstream, C2 as well as the refits by Royal Huisman of Skat and EOS at the Icon facility.
