Ridman releases new 50m concept named Apeiron

Italian designers Edoardo Ridoli and Federico Maria Manzini, who together form Ridman, have revealed a new 50-metre (164-foot) eco-friendly concept named Apeiron.

Developed in collaboration with naval engineers Eleonora Mascellino and Cristina Spadoni during study for a Masters degree at the University of Genoa, Apeiron is not your standard 50-metre motor yacht.

She features a 120-square-metre owner’s suite on the upper deck, including a private deck area with a swimming pool and sunpads. Two further VIP suites are housed on the main deck, making up part of the on-board accommodation for 12 guests. Crew quarters house a crew of nine staff.

Apeiron’s other notable features include a squared bow with flush deck to offer complete guest privacy when the yacht is moored stern-to in port. Here, there are sunloungers and seating for relaxation. A spacious sundeck offers an additional shaded relaxation area for guests with folding biminis, large alfresco dining table, C-shaped sofa and sunbathing area with another pool set forward.

Also on board is an expansive beach club aft of 80sqm, and a leisure space with gym, Jacuzzi and bar. An elevator serves each deck.

In terms of interior styling, Ridman describes her design as clean and contemporary, with a range of glossy finishes, fine woods, precious marbles and premium Italian leathers used to create a warm and elegant environment. A combination of metallic paints and contrasting materials is used to give the yacht “a strong sense of uniqueness and sophistication”.

Below decks, the engine room is located in the middle of the hull, with the tender garage is located in the bow on the main deck.

Apeiron’s exterior design is aggressive yet balanced. She offers a state-of-the-art propulsion system with five different modes, including a zero-emission mode under the power of her 2 61Kw electric engines.
