Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) 2018 saw the unveiling of a number of new superyacht and yacht projects. Here we outline some of the world premieres that were announced over the course of the show.
Dutch yard Zeelander Yachts has announced its largest yacht yet, the 22-metre (72-foot) Z72. Zeelander revealed full details and first in-build images of the new yacht, confirming that the exterior design was coming courtesy of Cor D Rover while the “sophisticated and comfortable” interior design was being managed in-house.
Fellow Dutch yard Vripack and U.S.A. yard Nordhavn have confirmed a collaborative partnership and showcased their first concept, named N80. A 24-metre (79-foot) explorer yacht, Nordhavn’s “classic nautical American interiors” will be substituted for Vripack’s “homely Scandinavian chic environment”, which will feature “accents of daffodil yellow” and “midnight blue hues”.
Taiwanese boat-builder Johnson Yachts used the occasion of the show to present its “entry-level superyacht”. Spanning 21.3 metres (70-foot), the fully customisable yacht is available with a skylounge or open flybridge. It has been designed by Bill Dixon of Dixon Yacht Design.
The reveal comes just days after Johnson Yachts provided fresh details on its 33.5-metre (110-foot) flagship Johnson 115.
