Sanlorenzo announces sale and construction of 64m flagship superyacht

Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo has announced that its largest ever superyacht has been sold and is now under construction.

Scheduled for delivery in 2019, the first blocks have been assembled for the superyacht at the yard’s new La Spezia facility. This new facility is dedicated to the construction of Sanlorenzo’s new long metal-hull yachts, which measure between 40 and 80 metres.

According to Sanlorenzo, the new superyacht is “characterised by elegant exterior lines and innovative interiors”, with exterior design by Officina Italiana Design. No interior designer has been confirmed yet, nor the details of the number of cabins on board.

Sanlorenzo also revealed that it has a number of other new projects currently under construction at the new production site, which also enjoys direct access to the sea. The new projects include work on two new 46m vessels from its 460 Explorer series, as well as two 52m steel hulls from its new 52 Steel range. The new site will also allow Sanlorenzo to perform refit operations for its larger vessels.
