Sanlorenzo shares sneak peek of debut model in 44Alloy series

Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo has unveiled a new clip of the debut model in its new 44Alloy series, the company’s first collaboration with acclaimed design firm Zuccon International Project.

The exciting first glimpse – shared on Instagram – features dramatic drone footage of the series’ inaugural hull as it was being transported to a new area of the La Spezia facility. There are three hulls currently under construction at La Spezia, with the first 43.9-metre (144-foot) superyacht slated for delivery in 2019.

The 44Alloy has not yet been detailed, but these preliminary images hint at a bright and airy interior thanks to expansive glazing and a wide range of rectangular portholes. The model’s interior volume is understood to be approximately 440GT – an impressive increase from the 40Alloy’s 338GT – and Sanlorenzo has noted a beam of 8.9 metres and a draught of 2.3 metres.

The 44Alloy will boast a top speed of 23 knots, as well as a cruising speed of 21 knots, thanks to a twin-screw MTU drivetrain. Accommodation capacity, tender storage and other key details are yet to be revealed.

Sanlorenzo has also confirmed it will be adding a new model to its range of aluminium yachts in 2020.

Massimo Perotti, chairman and CEO of Sanlorenzo, said, “I love to see the birth of a new model, to pore over drawings with my colleagues, discuss every single detail and improve, improve again until we finally see the real project and finalise it with the owner, who places his dream in our hands. The most satisfying part is to see later in the water exactly what we had in mind.”

Other projects at Sanlorenzo’s La Spezia yard include a 64Steel, due to be launched in 2019, as well as the company’s new flagship superyacht.
