As this year’s Monaco Yacht Show came to a close, yacht crew agency Silver Swan headed to Antibes for its Big Beach Clean, accompanied by its non-profit partner Plastic Patrol and The Green Stewardess, who helped to organise the event.

The event attracted a stream of people, including yachties, locals and holidaymakers, who had come together to tackle the vast amounts of cigarette ends, plastic straws and paper.
As the volunteers covered the main beach of Plage de la Gravette, they also discovered some interesting rubbish trapped in the base of cliffs, including a snorkel, flip-flops and plastic rope.
Throughout the clean, the number of participants grew, as passers-by including a group of local scouts opted to join in, which allowed a smaller group to begin working on the next beach.
Everything was logged into the Plastic Patrol app, where the data will contribute towards conducting the world’s largest survey of inland plastic pollution.
Every participant received a goody-bag which included a Yachting Pages S.O.S bottle.
