Solar-powered yacht to receive German debut during Boot Düsseldorf

Swiss firm SolarImpact Yacht AG will be giving its solar-powered superyacht a German premiere at Boot Düsseldorf (19^th to 27^th January 2019), at stand D27 in Hall 7a. Virtual tours of the of vessel will be available (with 3D glasses) and a team of the company’s experts will be on hand to answer questions.

The 23.7-metre (78-foot) vessel, designed by Marlena Ratajska, draws power from a solar-based energy supply and uses optimised SWATH (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) construction. The concept merges top-end luxury features and comforts with cutting-edge design and sustainability, and can reportedly boast an unlimited cruising range.

In addition to being almost self-sufficient in the energy department, the yacht can reach impressive top speeds of over 20 knots. Twin torpedo-shaped buoyancy bodies beneath the surface also carry the yacht and reduce the roll and pitch by up to 90%.

For guests and owners, there will be 340 square metres of living space split across three luxurious levels and six cabins (four double, one master and one crew), with a vast range of customisation options available to interested parties. As well as the engines using solar energy, the interior lighting, speakers and other details also draw power from this source.

For peace of mind, a diesel aggregate additionally ensures full operative capabilities – including in inclement weather conditions.
