Southern Wind Shipyard has announced the signing of a new RP-Nauta 100 custom yacht, a 30-metre (98-foot) high performance cruiser, commissioned by an experienced yachtsman.
The custom yacht’s general design, exterior and interior was developed by Nauta Design with naval architecture by Reichel Pugh Yacht Design.
Mario Pedol, a founding member of Nauta Design, said in a statement, "The owner is particularly keen on three aspects of the project: Functionality for safe and comfortable navigation, high performances to enjoy racing in the most renowned superyacht regattas, and sexy, appealing design to give the yacht a modern, aggressive and sporty look.”
When complete, the RP-Nauta 100 custom yacht will be a powerful 63-tonne carbon racer cruiser with a lifting keel and a maximum draught of 6.1 metres. She will also boast a sleek and elegant flush deck combined with a large sail area for performance.
Welcoming the new challenge, Marco Alberti, Southern Wind Shipyard general manager, said, “This yacht will benefit from the experience gained in the last years with the construction of two new series of high performance cruisers, the SW105 and SW96, and from technological innovations mastered building the SW-RP90 custom project.”
The yacht is scheduled for delivery in Spring 2020 as construction is already underway at Southern Wind’s shipyard in South Africa.
