Spanopoulos to expand shipyard in Greece

Spanopoulos Group, one of the largest shipyards in Greece, has recently announced details of the planned expansion of their facilities. Once built, the new site will be entirely dedicated to the refit and repair of all luxury yachts and superyachts.

The new shipyard, measuring 16000m2, will be capable of accommodating more than 30 yachts from 25 – 65M. There will also be 2500m2 of offices workshops, storage areas, libraries, a gym, cafes, a roof garden as well as apartments for crew and visitors.

Facilities include a modern travel lift of 820 tons lifting capacity and a 64.5m floating dock, which is capable of docking vessels up to 4000 tons. The width of the yards water dock is 13m allowing instant and secure access.

According to Spanopoulos, “The new shipyard opens new horizons in the yachting sector and widens the boarders by joining together the Greek experience with the technological development of nowadays, in order to carry out major refit projects for mega yachts.”
