St. Martin back in business after Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma brought devastation to the Caribbean at the beginning of September this year, with large numbers marinas among the wreckage as 165-knot winds hit island communities.

While St. Martin was among the worst affected areas at the time, it has quickly recovered from the damage wrought and the yachting industry is now getting back on its feet.

Ted Alextus from Marina Fort Louis has assured visitors to the island that the marina has been open and operational since November 15th.

There are several slips available with water and electricity on the docks, and more slips will be available by January. There is free WiFi, onsite clearance and a dedicated concierge team, as well as fully functional fuel pumps and amenities such as bathrooms and showers open.
