Monaco-based yacht transport firm Starclass Yacht Transport is celebrating thirty years of service in the sector. Started in 1987 by Dutchman Jan te Siepe, the firm has seen success through its offering of yacht transport services by cargo vessel, where the cargo is exclusively yachts.
Jan te Siepe wanted to create the first liner service for yachts, and shortly after starting the firm, had his first deck full of yachts on board coaster ‘Waddenzee’ in the Dutch port of Harlingen, ready for offload in Malaga. Today, the firm offers a range of routes and destinations including a three-weekly route stopping at a large number of popular destinations, which can also be used as a hop-on, hop-off transport service.
Starclass provides its services using two specialised transport vessels, Deo Volente and Eemslift Hendrika, both fully equipped with full lifting gear, adjustable transport cradles and super cranes capable of lifting yachts up to 300 tons.
