Storm causes extensive damage to 34m superyacht Paradise

34m motor yacht Paradise suffered extensive damage at her mooring in Southwest Mallorca over the weekend, following heavy winds and large swells at Port d’Andratx.

The stormy weather hit the port in the early hours of Saturday 4th March, leaving Paradise semi-submerged after she suffered severe damage to her hull and took on water.

Local publication Diario De Mallorca, reported that the strong winds caused damage to two yachts, Paradise and another unnamed smaller yacht moored in the marina, seeing the two be “hit very violently” against the quay. Paradise then began taking on water, eventually leaving only her fly bridge deck visible above the waterline.

Numerous ‘troops’ reportedly worked to prevent the two boats from sinking completely, before the local Andratx police moved into the port to regulate the rescue.

The superyacht is believed to be a 34m Custom Line which was listed for sale at an asking price of €3,400,000.
