Sunreef 74 Wildberry arrives in Florida after maiden Atlantic crossing

Sunreef Yachts has confirmed the successful arrival of the newly launched catamaran, Wildberry, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida upon the completion of her maiden Atlantic crossing.

Wildberry left the Sunreef shipyard in Gdansk, Poland, in February 2015 after undergoing a number of sea trials and technical tests in the Baltic Sea. She is the first unit from the Sunreef 74 line, launched just seven months from finalisation of her contract. Her arrival in Florida marks the handover to her owners.

Wildberry is characterised by spacious interiors of over 240m2 of total living space, including a 35m2 open saloon with panoramic views, master cabin, exclusive guest cabins and a galley down??. She boasts vertical bows and easy maneuverability by only two people thanks to fully automatic sail systems.

The transatlantic crossing saw Wildberry travel 6,000nm where, according to Sunreef, she behaved extremely well in all wind conditions. The 210sq m Code 0 and 470sq m spinnaker allowed the crew to continue sailing while most similar catamarans would have been required to start their engines.

Sunreef Yachts is anticipating the launch of twin Sunreef 74 catamarans, named the Blue Deer and 19th Hole, which will be dedicated for Mediterranean charters. The planned launch date is scheduled for the end of April 2015.
