Superyacht start-up announces new ‘revolutionary’ affordable luxury yacht charter service

New French Riviera based start-up FLOAT has announced its new charter app and website that ‘will revolutionise the world of yachting’. FLOAT allows users to book luxury yacht charters by the seat, meaning prices are twenty times lower than current alternatives, according to the start-up.

FLOAT ‘s users can book individual tickets for luxury yacht charters on pre-determined routes, all made up of the start-up’s own serviced fleet. Seats can be booked instantly, and include swimming and lounging time, lunch at prestigious beach restaurants and complimentary champagne.

Founded by Gualtiero Giori, CEO of 21st Luxury and former owner of Camper & Nicholsons International, and Dimitri Semenikhin, CEO of Yacht Harbour, FLOAT’s yacht charter will begin by operating a series of routes around Monaco and St Tropez, as early as the coming weekend.

Speaking on why FLOAT was created, Giori commented, “After working with billionaires and celebrities, amongst others for their superyacht needs as the owner of Camper & Nicholsons, I wanted to make yachting simpler and more accessible so that everyone could enjoy yachting.”

Guests of the St Tropez route will travel to Pampelonne Beach on ‘FLOAT OPEN class yachts’, such as the $1million Maori 50, whereas guests will enjoy the ‘FLOAT FLY class yachts’ on the Monaco route which, as the name suggests, have the benefit of a flybridge.

FLOAT plans on building upon the Monaco and St Tropez routes, by expanding to Miami and the Bahamas this winter. Further expansion plans include increasing the number of fleets and routes, and creating membership plans whereby members pay a yearly fee to gain unlimited access to shuttles.

Semenikhin stated, “FLOAT brings a level of efficiency and innovation to yachting that the sector was previously lacking. In addition to exposing a whole new demographic to yachts, FLOAT’s tech platform drastically reduces the complexity of chartering a yacht and removes price as a barrier”.
