Tankoa’s new 72m superyacht Solo to be launched very soon

Italy’s Tankoa Yachts has confirmed its new 72-metre (236-foot) superyacht Solo will be launched on 1st August.

The Tankoa S701 vessel, detailed thoroughly upon her confirmation in May 2018, has been styled inside and out by Francesco Paszkowski. Naval architecture comes courtesy of Studio Ruggiero, and she is described by the Italian brand as a “different animal” to 69-metre (226-foot) predecessor, Suerte.

Other than the sheer size of Solo, other key differences from Suerte include an underwater exhaust – allowing for more open space on the main deck and sundeck – and a modified transom area featuring a side staircase inside of a central one. Solo has a longer waterline to boot, with a higher top speed of approximately 17.5 knots.

The S701 boasts and additional 200GT of interior space and a range of 6,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12.5 knots. She wields the same engine power as Suerte, however – a pair of 2,480hp Caterpillar 3516B diesel engines.

Accommodation aboard Solo is for 12 guests across six cabins, including an owner’s deck, which includes a touch-and-go helideck aft, private Jacuzzi, bar, saloon, breakfast nook and day head. The owner’s apartment includes a study as well. Crew quarters can comfortably accommodate up to 18 staff members.

Other key features on Tankoa’s latest build is a main-deck winter garden, a six-metre swimming pool aft and a spacious beach club complete with hammam. The upper-deck saloon is a particularly luxurious entertainment hub with a 90-inch 4JK TV and a baby grand piano.

Solo features tender storage on the foredeck and side-loading garage, with two 7.5-metre tenders, a rescue boat and Jet Ski all easily stored.
