In the early hours of Sunday morning (16th June 2016) during an incident in Italy, fire destroyed the second Tecnomar Evo 120, shortly before its scheduled delivery.
The 37-metre (121-foot) yacht caught fire at the Italian Sea Group’s facility in Marina di Carrara at around 00:15am. At around 1:00am firefighters, police and the coast guard were called to the scene who isolated the fire to avoid affecting other yachts. There were no causalities reported, and the captain, who was the only person on board when the fire broke out, managed to evacuate safely.
Images circulating the internet and social media show the vast damage to the yacht, caused by the fire, which is heavily submerged into the marina waters.
Evo 120 was launched only four weeks prior to the incident, and was due to be delivered imminently before being destroyed by the fire.
