In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
The Green Blue (TGB), the environmental initiative of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and British Marine, has published a new Green Guide for Inland Boat Hire companies with a call to ‘go green’ for the 2015 boating season.
The leaflet is the latest addition to The Green Blue’s suite of handy guides and provides inland boat hire companies with a range of quick environmental wins as well as longer-term initiatives to make their businesses more sustainable.
The recent economic benefits of boating tourism report from British Marine found that the UK inland boat hire sector is worth approximately £90million. The vast majority of customers reportedly choose to hire an inland narrow boat or motor cruiser for the peace, tranquillity and abundance of wildlife on the inland waterways.
Jane Swan, project manager at TGB commented, “Environmental initiatives have never been so easy to implement and we hope that our new guide will prompt more inland boat hire companies to get in touch with us so we can help them take the first easy steps to being greener both on and off the water.”
Ann Davies, chairman of the Association of Pleasure Craft Operators (APCO) added, “APCO welcomes this new guide from The Green Blue and is encouraging its members to take on board ideas and look at ways to ensure their operations reflect environmental best practice.”
