Leading yacht painting company Thraki Yacht Painting GmbH has announced that it has been awarded the ISO 9001: 2008 certificate for quality management and the SCC certificate for safety and health management.
With several months’ preparation, Thraki managed to secure documents and paperwork for a range of internal quality management processes required for the ISO9001:2008, including management commitment, infrastructure management, monitoring and measuring devices and data analysis improvement. It was then audited by DEKRA Germany, and awarded the certificate.
Thraki Yacht Painting was also required to provide documents and paperwork for a range of processes relating to the SCC certificate, which included first aid, assessment of hazards, procurement and personal protective equipment.
The brand describes the certificates as another important step for the business. This is on top of a history of success, including a recent large paintjob for M/Y Luna in Bremerhaven, Germany. According to a statement by the brand, “This was a very good example of Thraki team work, where we had the challenge of managing a paintjob involving simultaneous fairing and top coating.”
Looking to the future, Thraki also announced that it is continuously investing in new equipment and training its staff in a variety of new techniques and approaches, in order to continue improving its efficiency in production and quality standards.
