TRAC Ecological announces sponsorship of Florida Waterway Cleanup for 5th year

US-based chandlery TRAC Ecological has recently announced its sponsorship of the 42nd Annual Broward Country Waterway Cleanup – organised by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida.

As the country’s largest and longest-running environmental event, the Waterway Cleanup attracts more than 1,200 volunteers. This year’s clean-up will take place on Saturday March 2nd, backed for the fifth year in succession by the TRAC Ecological team.

“It was a no-brainer for us to once again get our entire team involved,” explained TRAC Ecological CEO Kevin Greene. “Giving back to our surrounding community is one of our core values and this high-impact event is so closely tied to our mission as a company. It’s a natural fit.”

The first Waterway Cleanup was held in the late 1970s to help ensure both the community and the marine industry as a whole could enjoy the local waterways. In 2018, over 1,200 volunteers of all ages and over 100 boats participated across 31 locations around the US, removing 32 tonnes of trash and debris from local waterways, rivers and canals.

TRAC Ecological president Patrick LeClerc, said, “We’re really looking forward to this year’s event, and are excited to participate in an environmental event that has such a positive impact on our waterways and community.”
