Travel corridors allow Tradewinds Engineering superyacht training centres to re-open

Crew training specialist Tradewinds Engineering (Technical Passport) has started taking bookings for courses at its training centres in Palma and Devon, thanks to the introduction of travel corridors* and the easing of lockdown restrictions in Spain and the UK.

The UK government has issued a list of 59 destinations which now pose a ‘reduced risk’ from coronavirus. However, not all of the listed countries have announced reciprocal exemption, so Tradewinds advises that individuals check carefully before committing to travel.

The list focuses on countries in Europe, island nations around the world (including the Caribbean) and countries further east (including Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand).

Tradewinds will continue to offer discount on all of its online courses for those that are still unable to travel in spite of the latest developments.

<h2>Superyacht crew training courses</h2>

Tradewinds’ Marine Refrigeration course, for engineers working on superyachts, covers the theory of refrigeration and teaches attendees how to repair, troubleshoot and commission these systems.

*Exemption rules

From 10^th July 2020 individuals will not have to self-isolate upon arrival in England, if they:

•  are travelling or returning from one of the countries with travel corridor exemption
•  have not been to or stopped in a country that’s not on the travel corridors exemption list in the previous 14 days

This applies to all travel to England, by train, ferry, coach, air or any other route. If you have been to or stopped in a country that’s not on the travel corridors exemption list you will have to self-isolate until 14 days have passed since you left that country.
