Van der Valk’s 32m Jangada 2 approaches completion

Dutch yard Van der Valk has announced that its 32-metre (105-foot) custom series superyacht named Jangada 2 is nearing completion.

Due for delivery in May, the yacht is the fifth biggest superyacht from Van der Valk’s custom series line – and the second largest overall following on from the 36.8-metre (121-foot) Santa Maria T.

Jangada 2’s design was overseen by Nick Top and Guido De Groot to a “very specific brief”, while the naval architecture was developed in-house with a moderate V-hard chine-hull shape.

When delivered to her owner, she will boast a number of custom features – these include a flybridge deck with an outdoor helm station, al-fresco dining and sunbathing area, and a wet bar.

The yacht is also equipped with curved sliding doors leading to the saloon and an 800kg crane for deploying and retrieving tenders and toys. Moving inside, Jangada 2 has a minimalist interior in whitewashed European oak.

Accommodation is for up to nine guests across four cabins, including a main-deck owner’s suite. On the lower deck, the VIP cabin would stretch across the entire 7.05-metre beam, while a third double cabin and a twin cabin with a Pullman berth would complete the guest area layout. The crew quarters will be able to host up to six members of staff.

Discussing Jangada 2, designer Nick Top noted, "It’s a real pleasure to work with an experienced owner and create a functional GA that meets the requirements of the owner, even taking into account any future grandchildren.”

Power will come from a pair of MTU 12V2000 M96L engines, allowing for an estimated top speed of 18 knots.
