Launched last October at Vitters Shipyard in Harlingen, the Netherlands, the performance super sailing yacht Unfurled is currently cruising the Caribbean after being delivered to her new owners. Unfurled was the Dutch shipyard’s first collaboration with Argentinian naval architects German Frérs.
Aiming to reduce resistance while under sail, a large and unique challenge for the yard’s engineers was to develop and construct retractable propulsion pods. Vitters also developed a headsail storage system in-house, which would allow a shorthanded crew to efficiently stow and change sails.
The interior of Unfurled is of a contemporary style from Oliver Stirling, and she can accommodate her guests in two luxury guest cabins and a full-beam master suite.
She boasts a high-performance rig setup from Southern Spars, combined with 300sqm of sails by North Sails. RSB Rigging supplied her 63m tall mast’s running rigging.
Unfurled will make her regatta debut during next month’s Loro Piana Caribbean Regatta in Virgin Gorda, to be followed by an appearance at St Barths’ Bucket.
