Motor yacht Aviva, a 68 metre Abekind & Rasmussen custom built superyacht, is the largest hull to be wrapped using colour matched film by Färben.
The motor yacht, a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure and a beam of 12.30m (40.4ft), will be finished by Wild Group International using colour-matched Färben film, a project which ensued after the captain of the superyacht undertook research into finishing methods, soon discovering the significantly reduced timescale when using such foils and films.
The decision was then made to opt for foils and films following a visit to the Monaco Yacht Show, where the captain was able to see for himself the quality and finish of the products up close on a couple of larger scale projects recently completed by Wild Group.
A team of Wild Group skilled installers were flown out from Miami to undertake the work, where the project is expected to completed by the end of February, taking three weeks from start to finish.
The advantages of a simpler application mean that there is less labour time and cost involved, as well as less time in the yard. The specific marine foils used have been colour-matched to Awlgrip battle ship grey by Färben foils and films especially for the project.
Färben and Wild Group have been working together on a range of projects in current months, and have recently launched a new tougher, stronger and glossier range of films especially for the marine market.
