Workrest launches advanced solution app for logging and monitoring crew hours of rest

Workrest has launched a new “advanced solution” app for recording hours of rest in the yachting industry, reducing the time and effort captains and crew spend logging hours and monitoring compliance on board.

Conceived in 2015, and debuted to the industry at the recent MYBA Charter Show in Barcelona, workrest “provides industry leading functionality into a simple-to-use and intuitive platform”, according to its creators.

Its innovative features include a specially designed algorithm, which generates the most accurate demonstration of current compliance to MLC, STCW and US OPA legislation, and its Vessel Dashboard, which enables heads of departments to get real-time information on the status of each crewmember’s position in respect to their chosen regulatory body. Furthermore, it is a paperless system.

Stuart Willis, CMO at workrest explained, “Workrest is designed to solve the hours-of-rest problem aboard charter yachts by using better technology to allow for more accurate collection of data, combined with a better representation of real-time compliance.

“Available across all devices in both online and offline formats, workrest fits seamlessly into the lives of captains and crew, empowering them to log their hours regularly and far more accurately.”

Tim Fletcher, founder and CEO added, “We care deeply about simplifying the hours-of-rest process. Employees at workrest have all come from maritime careers and have been affected by the lack of suitable options for logging and monitoring hours of rest. That’s key to enabling us to provide a solution that’s simple and intuitive to use, whilst providing the highest level of functionality.”

Workrest is available to download on Apple and Android, and can be found on the workrest website.
