Yas Marina becoming new fitness and lifestyle destination

This month, Yas Marina, operated and managed by Camper & Nicholsons Marinas, situated on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, announced the second part of its redevelopment. Courtesy of Vogue Fitness, NuYou Spa, Watercooled and Bounceback, Yas Marina will establish itself as not only an entertainment hub, but also as a holistic lifestyle and fitness destination with classes both onshore and offshore.

Vogue Fitness has now launched their fully functional outdoor training sessions and kick off the start of the season with adrenaline fuelled, functional fitness classes around the surroundings of Yas Marina. Vogue Fitness is offering a ‘First Session Free’ promotion enabling tourists and residents the opportunity to try out the sessions and amenities before signing onto a full membership.

Unlimited monthly memberships and 10 session packages are priced at AED500 while classes on an individual basis cost AED60. Sessions last an hour and take place every day of the week at 6:00am, 9:00am and 6:45pm.

The Vogue Fitness indoor facility is nearly finished and when complete in August, Vogue Fitness will be offering a range of services such as sports massages, corporate fitness packages, personal training, kid’s fitness, gym membership and a large variety of fitness classes.

In addition to the boot camp that promises a high intensity workout around the promenade, Watercooled, the UAE’s premier water sports operator, will also be offering an array of water sport activities such as wakeboarding, waterskiing, Zapcat thrill rides, stand up paddle boarding (SUP), yoga, kayaking, as well as weekly water ski and SUP fitness classes.

With the completion of the water sports centre in October, Yas Marina and Watercooled will be offering powerboating courses with RYA Powerboat Level 1and 2, a certified course in driving powerboats safely, as well as RYA Safety Boat.  Watercooled will also offer private tuition to people wanting lessons in powerboat driving on their own boats.

Cedric Le Rest, general manager of Yas Marina commented, “Since the reopening of the Marina in October 2013 with the additional restaurants, facilities and activities, Yas Marina has become a popular dining and entertainment destination, during the week and at the weekends. With this in mind, I am thrilled and very excited to announce the second phase, which is to position Yas Marina as a truly integrated lifestyle and fitness destination.”

The launch of the new fitness amenities comes at a time when there are many sporting occasions that are being hosted at the promenade. Recent successful events include the Dragon Boat Race, the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Stand Up Paddle Boarding World Championship Tour and in the pipeline is the hotly anticipated return of “Splash@Yas Marina”, which will that take place on the 17th October.
