In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Yas Marina welcomed a 25 percent more yachts increase in visiting yachts for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this year. With a total of 247 yachts from all over the world descending on the Marina for the busiest race weekend to date, the event experienced a sell-out weekend with record numbers of guests and yachts.
Cedric Le Rest, general manager at Yas Marina’s said, “The smallest boat in the marina was 6m and the largest was 90m, totalling a whopping 4,770m LOA for all the boats in the marina. Race week is our biggest and busiest week of the year, and this year was the most successful one yet, attracting huge numbers of both guests and yachts since the event’s inception in 2009. The atmosphere is always electric with yachts arriving from across the region and internationally.”
Explaining the importance of the event for the marina, Le Rest added that the number of visiting yachts more than met expectations; “Established, high calibre events such as the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix are extremely valuable to Yas Marina as the weekend draws in a hugely influential crowd. Approximately 16,000 visitors soaked up the vibrant atmosphere around the marina this year, bringing the community together and making the destination the place to see and be seen at the biggest social and sporting event of the year. Following Formula 1, we always receive further interest in our annual membership packages.”
The post-event assessment of the 6th annual Abu Dhabi Grand Prix shows exactly how top-tier events can offer a unique chance to pull in more yachts and as a result, are incredibly valuable for marinas and regions.
