Italian shipyard Perini Navi has announced its partnership with Rome-based architecture firm Zuccon International Project, who will work on the design of the yard's three-model Heritage range.
The design studio has been assigned the 55-metre (180-foot), 65-metre (213-foot) and 75-metre (246-foot) models - which were revealed at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.
The three motor yachts - inspired by Perini Navi’s heritage in sailing yacht design – feature a concept which emphasises life on board, with specific attention given to outdoor spaces, as well as interconnected indoor spaces.
Bernardo Zuccon, Zuccon International Project architect, stated, “That is why we’ve taken various elements from the world of sailing and transferred them to the motor yachts, not least the distribution of the spaces and their function.
“The hull’s lines and powerful styling are therefore what define the architectural object, as is the case on a sailing boat, where the hull is the key feature and the superstructures are seen almost on a par with accessory components.”
The three models will feature “sharp, rigorous and minimal contours”, said Perini Navi, combined with outdoor pathways interconnecting various decks.
Zuccon added, “The very name of the range, Heritage, clearly signals our desire to draw on the culture of the shipyard, not least through the recovery of various style elements and by respecting a particular concept of life on board.”
