Turquoise Yachts reveals new explorer yacht in build

Turkish yard Turquoise Yachts has unveiled its newest project, 56m explorer designed by André Hoek.

With her launch said to be scheduled for February 2019, the yacht (currently unnamed) will be constructed with an aluminium superstructure and ice-classed hull, allowing for exploration of the Polar Regions and Northwest Passage.

The yacht will feature a mix of both old and new, featuring a classic exterior design but fitted with the latest technology, including a diesel-electric propulsion system and a state-of-the-art satellite communication dome. There is also an extendable boarding platform featuring retractable stairs.

Her interior décor is currently being developed by Hoek Naval Architects, in collaboration with the British design studio Vickers. Similarly to the exterior, the interior will feature classic teak details throughout, with a mix of indoor spaces and four wide, open decks. Her total internal volume will be 785GT.

No further details have been released about the yacht as yet, which is one of a number of projects currently under construction at Turquoise Yachts. These include 74m Project Barracuda, 66m Project NL233, and 80m Project VY80.
