Yacht surveying firm 2G marine, led by Capt. Erdem Tufan, is experiencing fast growth and expansion due to recent recognitions from leading yacht members’ organisations worldwide.
2G Marine has joined International Superyacht Society’s Ethics Programme, which supports businesses displaying key business practices that promote and embody professionalism, honesty, integrity and trust. They are currently the only Turkish company in the industry to be part of the programme.
The programme was started by ISS after a consensus showed that many individuals and companies felt some concern over business practices of the industry. Alongside 2G Marine, many businesses now support and have committed to following the principles laid out by ISS.
Similarly, 2G Marine has also become a member of ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council). ABYC is a non-profit member organisation that develops voluntary safety standards for the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of recreational boats, and is a recognised global standards organisation in the marine industry.
Joining seven other Turkey-based companies and individuals, 2G Marine has committed to ensuring all of its employees will adhere to the training and certification programs of ABYC.
These commitments have been followed by 2G Marine signing an agreement to work for Burgan Leasing in Turkey, acting as the valuator and surveyor for Burgan’s Turkey-based clients. The surveys can take place in any part of the world on behalf of Burgan, and 2G Marine has so far completed 12 surveys under this agreement in less than three months. This includes full reports on the technical condition of a yacht, and a summary of the vessel’s current market value.
