In cooperation with David Wright Design, Turkish shipyard, Etemoglu Boatyard has announced the successful launch of the 46-metre sailing yacht, Zanziba after she was initially announced in 2011.
Originally ordered by a British businessman with many years of yachting experience, the brief was created for a yacht that would be able to defray a large part of its annual running costs on the charter market. This owner stepped out of the project midway with the yacht put on hold for some time before her current Turkish owners bought and completed her.
With the change in ownership, some changes were made to her layout while she was under construction, changing from six similarly sized cabins without a dedicated owner’s suite to the current design, which includes a full beam master stateroom, three twins and a double cabin.
The interior renderings of the design show the use of teak, burr oak and zebrano veneers throughout, accentuated by bronze and nickel fittings to create a warm and rich atmosphere.
She is powered by a Caterpillar 2X C18 engine, which allows her to reach a top speed of 13 knots.
