ACI Dubrovnik opens first marinaside golf training centre in Croatia

ACI Dubrovnik has announced the addition of a new golf range to its Blue Flag marina in Southern Croatia.

Designed by Sport Concept d.o.o., the ACI Golf Range Concept (GRC) is the first golf training course to open at a marina facility in Croatia.

Construction takes on the latest idea of building golf training courses on the surface of a tennis court measuring 600 to 800m2, and uses the latest in materials innovation, including artificial grass meant specifically for golf courses, making it available for use all year around.

According to marina representatives, the GRC contains a mini golf course and golf training course “designed for users of all ages and all levels of golf knowledge - from beginners to professional players.”

The golf practice course “consists of all elements of a professional golf course, where one can practice all the strokes as on a real golf course, making it suitable for the practice of golfers during their stay in the marina.” It contains a putting green with six holes, sand bunkers for practicing sand strokes, a chipping green for short games, two practice nets for practicing long strokes and a mini golf course with artificial grass and nine different fields.

Professional golf equipment is available for guests and is included in the price of play per hour. Equipment includes Dunlop golf clubs for left and right-handed men and women, sets for children by age group, and balls and baskets, as well as mini golf clubs and balls. Also available on site is a ‘golf animator’ to help guests to learn their first strokes.

Bojan Kovačević from ACI Marinas said, “The new golf content at ACI Marina Dubrovnik is meant for all our boating guests who want to actively spend their time at the marina by playing golf or mini golf, and thus entertaining their friends or their entire family. Many of our guests will leave with the knowledge of a new sport, a sport that we believe will experience a very rapid populisation on our coast.

“ACI is proud of this investment in the infrastructure of ACI marina Dubrovnik, as it has opened the door to new and different guests who are eager to use sports facilities. The example of the Gold Range Concept in ACI marina Dubrovnik is a pilot project that will continue in other ACI marinas that are suitable for this this type of activity. ACI marinas will thus become a unique chain of marinas with a standardised offer of such golf training courses.”

The marina provides sheltered berthing for up to 380 boats in wet berths and 140 in dry berths, including superyachts up to 60m LOA.
