French yacht builder Couach Yachts has announced that it has teamed up with the renowned superyacht designer Espen Øino.
Over the next 18 months, the partnership will see the creation of three new Couach ranges, the first of these being the ‘Timeless’ collection. Timeless will see five superyachts built including 26m Timeless 2600; all will measure 20 to 40m on average. Øino will also design a 20 to 40m ‘Super Sport’ collection, and 40m+ ‘Super Yacht’ collection.
Øino said of the Timeless collection, “We wanted to draw upon the historically strong identity that Couach had between the 1970’s and 1990’s; to bring back something that was distinctive and instantly recognisable with strong, meaningful lines.”
Standout features on board the Timeless 2600 include a large flybridge sundeck, and full-height windows opening to maximise air and natural light into the saloon. Accommodation is available for 12 guests and 3 crew, and the 2600 will be powered by two MANV12 engines, allowing for a top speed of 30 knots, and fast cruising speed of 24 knots.
Øino also added, “With a smaller yacht, you need to be more self-disciplined in your design work, and make it more purposeful; every centimetre counts. It is as exciting – if not more exciting – than designing a very large superyacht because you can personally relate better to the vessel, you can imagine yourself enjoying being on board, including driving the yacht yourself.”
