Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
Actisense, one of the market-leading marine electronics brands from Active Research Limited, has added a new product to their A2K Range – ‘Actisense Field Fit Connectors’. Designed for versatility, the Actisense Field Fit Connectors allow for secure, reliable connections in all NMEA 2000 installations using micro cable. The connectors are available in both straight and right angle options with either male or female connections.
Phil Whitehurst, managing director of Active Research Limited commented, “The Field Fit Connectors add a variety of new possibilities for NMEA 2000 installations and are an extremely useful addition to our A2K Range. The right angle connectors can be fitted at a number of angles to allow ease of installation from the desired entry point and make it easy to install cable around tight bends.”
As well as providing versatility and options for all NMEA 2000 installations, the glands inside the connectors tighten around the cable as they are screwed together to maintain watertight integrity. The field fit connectors also enable cables to be cut to any length resulting in less excess.
Mr Whitehurst continued, “Given the combined benefits of secure reliable connections with the versatility to be used in any NMEA 2000 installations, we expect the new field fit connectors to become a popular choice with installers when customising NMEA 2000 networks.”
