Italian shipyard Fincantieri revealed a new 106-metre (347-foot) superyacht concept during the first day of the Monaco Yacht Show 2018.
The project, named Mirage, is the result of a new design collaboration between Fincantieri Yachts and Van Geest Design.
According to the design team, the yacht was inspired by city landscapes and skyscrapers and therefore includes plenty of reflective surfaces and a design that is both light and elegant. She is said to be the product of an extensive research on glass specifications and capabilities.
Tracey-Jayne Canavaggio of Van Geest Design said, “Mirage was designed to bind seemingly opposite and contrary forces being complementary, interconnected and interdependent.
“One is to anchor its presence in the landscape, the other is to disappear by reflecting its surroundings,”
The exterior of the yacht is simplistic and featuries clear and prominent lines, as well as a vast amount of exterior space on each deck.
Senior vice president at Fincantieri, Daniele Fanara, commented, “The challenge at the heart of every new project is creating something unique as to concept and execution. We believe that Mirage perfectly fits this goal,”
