Hill Robinson appoints a yacht manager in their Fort Lauderdale office

Hill Robinson has reported that captain Rob Ferneding joined the company in January 2013 with over 25 years of experience in the yachting industry and is making a valued contribution to the team.

Rob obtained his captain license in 1986 and began a successful career as a captain, building a solid reputation within the charter yacht market operating on both sailing and motor yachts including some of the highest profile yachts at that time, such as the 132’ Feadship Halcyon, the 171’ Feadship Royal Pacific, and the 140’ Feadship Dream Seeker.

After spending over 20 years at sea, Rob came ashore in 2004 to pursue the management side of the industry, gaining valuable experience in MCA/ISM procedures. During this period he continued to do delivery work to keep up to date with the latest ship systems and to keep his sea legs.

Rob brings to Hill Robinson years of on-board management skills, shipyard refits, and an excellent network of contacts.  He is excited to be part of the experienced Hill Robinson USA team and Michael Reardon, who heads the US operation, is more than happy to welcome Rob, he commented, I have known Rob for a number of years and am delighted he is joining our team. He will be a great asset bringing the right combination of skills and experience.”
