Nautech appoints new senior project manager

Nautech Group Shipyards has announced the appointment of Michael Germain to the position of senior project manager at its refit facility in La Ciotat.

With further facilities in Marseille, Toulon, Villefranche and Martinique, Nautech has refit capabilities on both sides of the Atlantic. Michael joins a team of project managers who work to fulfil both client and vessel needs, with his appointment marking the group’s continuing growth as it expands its facilities in the Caribbean and looks forward to a busy year in the Mediterranean.

Michael is a knowledgeable engineer with a wide range of experience on board and in management positions. A graduate of the French Maritime University (ENSM) in Le Havre, he worked as a chief engineer for five years before being promoted to chief officer, during which time he gained experience on tankers, motor yacht and steam vessels.

Previously, Michael's practical knowledge was tested in the role of technical manager on a commercial vessel, overseeing daily maintenance and repairs whilst liaising with a large crew.

In his last role, Michael managed shipyards in Singapore and China, directing the building of bulk carriers and passenger ships.
